Jae Shim is an independent filmmaker with interests in philosophy, creative writing, and classical piano. After studying at Carnegie Mellon University and training at Pittsburgh Filmmakers, he began freelancing as a shooter and editor in Washington, D.C.
His diverse experience in the non-fiction space includes HULU series Behind the Mask, Pulse Films' ten-part music series Rock and Roll, and feature film We Call Her Yolanda which follows the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines for two years.
Jae works and writes from his imaginary treehouse in Los Angeles.
